Pipe Blasting and Pipe Renewal

Pipe Blasting and Pipe Renewal

Pipe bursting

Pipe bursting are trenchless methods used to replace existing pipelines in the same pipeline without physically removing the existing pipeline of pipes. The process of replacing a pipe by using the existing alignment and splitting the old pipe. It can also be used to increase the capacity of the pipeline by renewing the existing pipe diameter with a larger pipe diameter within the limits.

Pipe blasting; It is used to replace brittle pipes such as cast iron, asbestos cement, concrete and cast iron by pulling a static or dynamic explosion head from inside the main pipe to break up the existing pipe and sometimes an expansion cone placed in the explosion head. the ground surrounding the parts outward. Simultaneously, a new pipe attached to the back of the burst head is installed flush with the original pipe.

Pipe splitters are used to modify ductile pipes such as steel, ductile and plastic by dividing them along their length using an inner head with cutting blades. As with the pipe burst, a new pipe attached to the back of the cutting head is installed flush with the original pipe.

There are three methods of pipe blasting: pneumatic, hydraulic, and static pull. The difference between them is in the energy source and the method of breaking the old pipe. Pneumatic and hydraulic methods use dynamic force to break the old pipe, while static pull uses a constant pulling force. The choice of a specific method depends on the ground conditions, groundwater conditions, the pipe diameter to be drawn, the type of new pipe, the structure of the existing pipeline, the depth of the pipeline and the availability of suitable equipment. Static pipe blasting has become a more common method than pneumatic blasting because it does not have shock waves and does not damage other adjacent or adjacent pipelines.
